MC Group successfully completes its School of Leadership with Amazonian Women
Quito, September 0,5, 2023.- MC Group, one of the leading Public Relations and Communication agencies in the country, concluded its training program “School of Leadership of Amazonian Women”. Over several months, more than 30 women, leaders of Kichwa, Shuar and Cofán communities learned about concepts, tools and communication platforms, which will allow them to enhance their skills and improve the visibility of their ventures.
The program, which began in August 2023, consisted of five modules: Journalism, Entrepreneurship and Communication, Social Networks, Photography and Video, and Personal Branding. During this time, MC Group staff traveled several times to the East of the country, to the community of AlliShunku to provide training.
“We are very proud to have successfully concluded the Amazonian Women’s Leadership School. Our goal has always been to empower these women and provide them with tools that help them achieve their goals and contribute to the development of their communities,” said Mercedes Córdova, CEO of MC Group.
The participants of these trainings were both mothers and young students, who found in this initiative an invaluable opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in the field of communication.
“We are very grateful for the opportunity MC Group has given us. These trainings have opened new doors for us and given us the confidence to start our own businesses. Now, many of us are opening sales through social networks and demonstrating to the world our talents and products,” said Lilian Caiza, representative of the participating women.
In order to close this cycle of workshops, Mercedes Córdova, the CEO of MC Group, traveled personally to deliver the certificates of participation to each of the women who completed the program.
“The Amazonian Women’s Leadership School is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility program, through which we seek to contribute to the development and progress of Ecuadorian society. We are committed to women’s empowerment and will continue working to reach more communities that need our support,” said Mercedes Córdova.
Thanks to these trainings and self-management, the group of women has managed to obtain a space in the town to show their ventures. It is expected that the place, which will be located in the Cascales Market, will be ready by 2024. Here they will be allowed to open sales and publicize the local production of food, costume jewelry, raft modeling and sale of native plants such as orchids, among others.
MC Group’s goal by 2024 is to expand this program to more communities in order to provide them with the necessary tools for their personal and economic development.
