“Soy Emprendedora” strengthens the entrepreneurial participation of women in the Zamora Chinchipe Province

The “Soy Emprendedora” Programme is an initiative led by Fundación Lundin and Lundin Gold, a Canadian Company operating the Fruta del Norte mine, which is directed at women entrepreneurs in areas surrounding the mine. The initiative aims to position the importance of the role of women in productive and entrepreneurial environments through the strengthening of managerial, entrepreneurial, and personal development skills.

In the second edition of the initiative, 27 women received training to improve their businesses and now form part of the Soy Emprendadora support network, a space for exchanging experience and knowledge which will also become a network of contacts to develop business and growth opportunities made up of all the participants of the programme.

In this edition, all the entrepreneurs participated in a competition to win seed capital and technical support for one year. Of these women, there were three women, who will be able to use the awarded capital according to the needs and nature of each enterprise, with the goal of strengthening it, improving their product, and finally tying it to a secure market with fair prices.

To date $39,000 of non-refundable seed capital has been awarded in the two editions of the programme to 9 businesses led by women in the Zamora Chinchipe Province.

Lundin Gold is happy to announce that the third edition will take place during the third trimester of 2023, which will allow 3 new winners to be awarded seed capital. From now, Lundin Gold cordially invites female entrepreneurs from the province to look forward to the new application.

Fundación Lundin and Lundin Gold reiterates their commitment to maintaining and consolidating the support provided to women entrepreneurs and to the diverse productive sectors of the Zamora Chinchipe province.
