91 flight segments, 170,380 miles, 363 flying hours, 31 airports, 10 countries and thousands of meetings.

All to be with you – and it is the part of my role at United I cherish most!

I’ve long believed that being together, in person, is the most authentic and insightful way to understand how United serves you and your business. Thank you for being generous and welcoming hosts throughout the year and across the globe.

There are several highlights from the Latin American region I’d like to call out:

  • I was able to kick off my year in Bogota, celebrating 30 years of service to Bogota with our United team, guests, and the media at the ambassador’s residence.
  • We celebrated 35 years of service to Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, respectively.
  • In March, we launched several new routes to Tulum, Mexico, including New York/Newark, Houston, Chicago, and Los Angeles (seasonally).
  • In April, we launched Georgetown, Guyana, to Houston, offering convenient access to the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of Guyana and the U.S.
  • In October, we launched Monterrey, Mexico, to San Francisco, connecting the north of Mexico with the West Coast.
  • In November, we launched Medellin, Colombia, to Houston, marking our 63rd overall Latin American and Caribbean destination.
  • And, for our foodies on board, we added Brazilian cuisine on board our flights to Brazil?

It’s an honor to promote United and the work of our 100K employees whose mission is to connect people and unite the world. We’re innovating on every front: continually taking delivery of new planes as part of our United Next growth plan; revealing an industry-leading agreement to bring Starlink’s Wi-Fi service on board for free; announcing our largest international expansion ever, including eight new destinations (Nuuk or Ulaanbaatar, anyone?); continuing to work to help make travel more sustainable; and so much more.

It brings me such joy to see the work my colleagues at United are doing to make your travel experience better than ever. At the end of the day, at United we all get to do what we love the most – take care of our passengers.  We never forget, for even one moment, that your business, trust and loyalty must be earned and is a key ingredient in our success.

I hope this holiday season you’re able to pause and reflect, and that you are able to spend time with those who make you happy. Happy Holidays! And here’s to 2025!

Warm wishes,
